For years now, they consequently follow their very own ways: DEINE LAKAIEN impressively show that high ambitions and success don't have to exclude each other. Since 1993, each of the duo's releases hit the Media Control Charts, and their concerts are constantly sold out.
DEINE LAKAIEN are back after a period of seclusion! In secret, singer Alexander Veljanov and electronics-specialist Ernst Horn have been working for quite some time on the follower of their 1996 work "Winter Fish Testosterone" - their new album "Kasmodiah". A tempting hors d'oeuvre is the promising single "Return".
The experience of about twelve years band history, and at the same time the impulses of the recent solo projects since 1996, find expression in the 13 new songs. And another important aspect should be mentioned: multiinstrumentalist Michael Popp and violin player Christian Komorowski, who have until then only backed up the band live, for the first time also played parts on the album.

"Kasmodiah" presents the qualities Deine Lakaien have always been known for, as well as some new merits. The resulting music is an immense vortex, living up to the image of a cult band, the "dark jewel" amongst german alternative bands. Mysterious lyrics, presented by the exceptional voice of Alexander Veljanov, shine along with the intense sound-paintings of Ernst Horn, Michael Popp and Christian Komorowski. Despite the electronic equipment, the quartet reveals an undeniable earthy character. Sometimes pop is adopted in fluent passages, which remind of british tradition. Or classical scenarios with incredible flair establish a connection to the german history of electro and techno.
The spectre of this, meanwhile fifth, studio album of these musicians by heart impresses with a really compact collection of songs, which not only has the potential to live up to the previous successes, but to even outdo them. The laurels won so far with six albums - four studio- and two live albums - have been more than notable. Especially, because the recent three works have stayed outstandingly long in the Media Control Charts.
DEINE LAKAIEN are servants of art, who wish to leave a lasting impression with their music. Unwavering liegemen, for whom only their vision exists. Last but not least, though, they are also seducers, mastering all tones of the kaleidoscope of emotions, not only to flatter the ear: dancefloor-compatibility and introvertedness, darkness and brightness, melancholy and joy, asceticism and hedonism, what seem irreconcilable oppositions, they blend into synergy. And thus, take the listener into the fascinating spaces of a universe very much of its own, with pictures that won't let you go anymore.
For the first time Chrom Records releases single and album in colaboration with Columbia Records.
